Questions

Frequently asked questions

If yours is not here, ask us and we will answer it and add it.

The course

How long does it take?
About 60 minutes. That is the nominal CPD duration, which is the figure a CPD certificate carries. It is not a timer, and we do not claim that time on a page proves anyone learned anything. Most people take somewhere between 70 and 110 minutes, and they can stop and come back.
What is actually covered?
Twelve modules and two assessments, in two parts. Part One is safeguarding, child protection, recognising and reporting harm, online safety and artificial intelligence, KCSiE 2026 Part One read in full, the Prevent duty and safe working practice. Part Two is allergy awareness, recognising a reaction, emergency response and adrenaline, and managing a placement day.
Which edition of KCSiE is it written against?
KCSiE 2026, in force 1 September 2026. The certificate records the course edition, so an auditor can see which version was completed.
Is there an assessment?
Yes. 53 questions, and all of them must be answered correctly. Retries are unlimited and free, and every wrong answer shows an explanation of why it is wrong.
Can it be done on a phone?
Yes. Progress saves as the candidate goes, so they can start on a train and finish at home on a laptop.
Does it cover safer recruitment?
No. Safer recruitment training is for the people at your agency who do the vetting, not for the candidates you place. It is a different course and we do not sell it.

Buying it

Can I buy online?
Yes. Choose the band that covers your candidate list and pay securely through Stripe. Your agency account is set up as soon as the payment is confirmed.
How is it priced?
By candidate allowance, annually. Bands run from £99 for 5 candidates up to £2,250 for 750. Above that, contact us and we will agree a price. All prices exclude VAT.
What counts as using a place?
Sending an invitation reserves a place, and the candidate starting the course uses it. Cancelling an invitation nobody has accepted gives the place back. Resends and assessment retries are free.
What if a candidate leaves us?
If they had already started, the place stays used. The training happened and the certificate is theirs. If they never started, cancel the invitation and the place comes back.
Do unused places carry over?
No. A new subscription year is a new allowance. Anyone part-way through at renewal can finish without using a second place.
Is VAT included?
No, all prices exclude VAT, which is charged at the prevailing UK rate. Sussex Teachers Limited, VAT number GB 169 3184 81.

Certificates and compliance

What is on the certificate?
The candidate name, the exact course title and edition, the completion date, the valid-until date, the nominal duration, the issuer, a unique reference and the CPD Certified mark.
When does a certificate expire?
31 August 2027 for certificates issued in the current cycle. We align to the school year rather than to twelve months from completion, so your whole list renews against the current KCSiE edition at the same time.
Does the agency get a copy?
Yes, automatically, to an address you nominate and verify. The candidate gets theirs at the same time.
Can a school verify a certificate?
Yes. Each certificate carries a unique reference and a verification link showing that it is valid, what it covered and when it expires. There is no public name search, so nobody can browse who has trained.
What happens if we cancel?
Certificates already earned stay valid and stay downloadable. Cancelling a subscription does not retrospectively invalidate training that was genuinely completed.
Is this CPD accredited?
The course is CPD Certified by The CPD Certification Service, an independent accreditation body. That means the learning has been independently assessed. It is not a government, DfE, Ofsted or Ofqual approval, and no training provider can give you one of those.

The awkward questions

Does the law require annual safeguarding training?
No. KCSiE 2026 asks for training at induction, regularly updated, with updates at least annually, and the examples it gives of those updates are emails and staff meetings (paras 153 to 154). It is a should, and it is addressed to schools. The 12-month interval comes from APSCo Compliance+ 26A and from what schools ask for.
Does KCSiE require agencies to train supply staff?
No. KCSiE is addressed to governing bodies and proprietors. What it does put on agencies is around checks, written confirmation and co-operation on allegations. The training obligation that does bite on you is reg 19 of the Conduct Regulations 2003, which requires you to confirm a worker has the training the hirer considers necessary.
Is allergy training mandatory now?
Not yet. Section 34 of the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026 requires schools to have an allergy safety policy, and that is in force. The DfE’s July 2026 statutory guidance says staff should receive at least annual allergy awareness training and expressly names supply teachers and agency workers, but the guidance itself says the statutory training duty is still to come.
Must Prevent training be renewed annually?
No. The Prevent duty guidance says it is for each setting to determine how frequently training should occur. The only interval it names is a recommendation of at least every two years for the designated lead.
Why are you telling us this? It weakens your sales pitch.
Because you will check. Every claim on this site is cited, and a compliance manager who finds we overstated one has a good reason to doubt everything else we said. The real reasons to buy are strong enough without help.
